€ 450,00
A charming and distinctive vintage Omega Genève pocket watch from 1977 with reference 121.1740. This model was produced from the early 1970s through the 1980s and features the characteristic 48 mm chrome-plated case, a clean white dial with black Arabic numerals, slender hands and a subsidiary seconds register at 6 o’clock.
What makes this particular example especially interesting is its provenance. Although the serial number on the movement dates the production year of the watch to 1977, the watch was purchased in 1980 and subsequently presented as a gift to an employee of Unilever, the major multinational consumer goods company.
At the heart of the watch is the renowned Omega calibre 960, a robust 17-jewel manually wound movement based on the Unitas 6497 platform. The calibre 960 is known for its straightforward construction, reliability and ease of servicing.
The movement of this particular pocket watch has been fully inspected by our watchmaker and is running properly. It is supplied with a 6-month mechanical warranty, giving you additional peace of mind.
The pocket watch comes complete with its original Omega box, making it an especially attractive piece for both collectors and enthusiasts of vintage Omega timepieces.
For any questions or if you would like additional photographs, please feel free to get in touch. We will be happy to provide any further information.
We thoroughly inspect every watch before offering it through our store and, when necessary, ensure that it is fully serviced. However, sometimes defects arise and therefore we offer a 6-month warranty on each watch purchased. This warranty covers solely mechanical defects (related to the movement) and excludes issues arising from normal wear and tear, accidents, or improper use.
Excluded from the warranty are, among other, the waterproofness of the watch, as well as breaking/loss of the glass, winding stem, winding crown, spring, buttons and pushers and such, and the strap/bracelet. Also excluded is damage caused by falling/bumping of the watch or through the presence of dirt or moisture in the watch.
